Richmond offers rotators to cover any of your rotary application requirements. Traditionally rotators are used in the pipeline industry for welding together lengths of pipe, pressure vessel fabrication, pipe painting and coating. Richmond offers rotators for these applications and so much more. Richmond offers a standard range of conventional and self adjusting rotators, with capacities from 2000kg to over 80,000 kg.

We offer the ability to customise gearing ratios, add castors or track wheels for handling or when adjustable positioning is required. Drive and idler rollers can be supplied in our standard non marking polyurethane, rubber or steel. The rollers width and diameter can also altered if required to confirm any with overall height requirements. We can even customise specialised features to fit onto, or to work with the rotator system to suit your individual requirements. We offer rotator solutions to suit application as diverse as mining trommel systems, fabrication assembly lines of oil and gas components, sand blasting and even for outdoor applications. Almost any rotary application that may previously have required an expensive completely custom made drive system could incorporate a Richmond rotator. What is the difference between conventional and self adjusting rotators?

A traditional rotator has 2 rollers that are adjustable along a fabricated frame to accommodate varied component diameters. The position of the rollers can be adjusted via a hand operated wheel or by unbolting and repositioning the drive roller assembly. Conventional rotators are the best choice for slow or primarily static rotational applications such as welding, sand blasting, and the fabrication of a pressure vessel.

Conventional rotators have 4 rollers, each side of the frame are two rollers that are mounted in a self adjusting bracket. The benefits of self adjusting rotators is that as the load is placed on the rollers, each of the two brackets automatically adjusts to optimally fit the diameter of the product .This allows each of the 4 rollers to evenly share the load. Self adjusting rotators create a more stable rotary application as the load is better supported within the roller system. The 4 rollers generate twice the grip of a conventional rotator so they are superior in driven applications. Conventional rotators also reduce contact pressures between the rollers and the rotated item, reducing wear. Conventional rotators are beneficial in most applications, especially more demanding applications requiring higher rotational speeds or long periods in operation are required. Or if the diameter of rotated products often vary as this design self adjusts to suit the diameter, saving you setup time.

Richmond also offers positioners for your vertical rotary applications. Traditionally these are referred to as welding positioners. Positioners offer 2 axis of movement as the table top spins 360 degrees and the table can also be tilted 90 degrees. Alternatively they can be supplied as rotary tables without a tilting axis. Positioners can be used as welding platforms to boost fabrication productivity as the 2 axis table can be moved to the optimal position for the welder's access. Positioners can also be used for product assembly/ positioning within a manufacturing or mining system or even in fabrication machining. Richmond's positioners range are rigid, heavy duty work platforms that allow you safe and stable 2 or 1 axis manipulation of your parts and products.

Each positioner comes with T slots machined into the table top for clamping the product securely to the table, variable frequency drive motors controlling the rotary table and tilting motors and a heavy duty frame that in most applications does not require bolting to floor.
